A year after making the UIL women’s soccer state semifinals, the Kingwood Park Panthers girls’ soccer team is off to another fast start this year. Thus far, the Panthers have played two tournaments, with the team going 6-1 in those tournaments. 

Former Kingwood standout Sewo Olonilua continues to impress at the college level. The junior running back at TCU turned in a career night for the Horned Frogs in a 10-7 overtime victory against California at the Cheez-it Bowl, played on Dec. 26 at Chase Field in Phoenix, Ariz., home of Major League Baseball’s Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Kingwood Lady Mustangs soccer team prepared for the District 22-6A opener with four victories at the Humble Classic recently.

Houston Texans safety Tyrann Mathieu held his annual turkey giveaway at North Belt Elementary. Tyrann’s Turkeys in partnership with the Houston Food Bank donated over 300 turkeys and holiday meals to North Belt families.

Both Kingwood boys and girls basketball teams picked up District 22-6A victories. The Kingwood boys broke into the win column in league play with a recent 43-26 win over Pasadena Memorial while the Lady Mustangs rode past Sam Rayburn for a 39-23 triumph.

The Greater Lake Houston Heart Walk, benefitting the lifesaving work of the American Heart Association, took place on Saturday, November 3rd at Lone Star College-Kingwood.
